In Loving Memory of R. Labaton A'H

ANNOUNCEMENTS

There is a group who will be reading Rabbi Ezra Labaton’s PhD together Sunday mornings at 7:30am. They will be reading the PhD in the “library” where the Rabbi used to teach. Please let us know if you plan on joining. You can find a link to the PhD here

Our Shul has a learning program in honor of the Rabbi’s memory. The program is called OneaDayRambam, and a chapter of Mishne Torah is emailed out, in English, to the group every day. The goal is to finish the entire Mishne Torah within 3 years. To signup please email Rabbi Meyer Laniado MeyerLaniado@gmail.com

If you have files, audios or videos please do post or send to one of the below initiatives in the links section. For larger files please email RLabatonAH@gmail.com for a link to upload.

Rabbi Haim Ovadia is launching a post graduate rabbinic studies program in honor of Rabbi Labaton called Torat Ezra Academy. The program will mostly be online and auto didactic. They will accept students with semikha and a relevant academic degree. Graduates will be acquainted with the Rabbi Labaton’s top 100 books and will have mastered 25 of them. The curriculum will train these Rabbi’s in roles as pulpit speaker, pastor and educator. The program requires participation in Tikkun Olam projects. The Academy is still an IDEA, but the void Rabbi Labaton has left is REAL so if you support and believe in this idea, please contact Rabbi Haim Ovadia who is working on making it a reality.

One of the Rabbi’s great accomplishments was becoming one of the WORLDS experts on Rabbi Abraham the son of haRambam. He wrote an excellent PhD that can be found here. We will be studying his Phd starting tomorrow morning at 6am in West Deal Shul. For more information email MeyerLaniado@gmail.com

Please find some of the pieces the Rabbi wrote for the West Deal Kenis’s newsletters attached to this email. You can also find them online here: http://www.westdealshul.org/rabbi's-ramblings.html. I hope to send more pieces written by the Rabbi over the next week.
